I’m so glad you want to know more about me! My name is Deb Joy Smeak and I am a crafty Christian mama of four hilarious kids and wife to an amazing hard-working do-it-yourself husband. We live in Williamston, MI, a small country town smack in the middle of larger cities Lansing and Detroit. We love watching movies together, camping and playing lots of board games. My husband is a wonderful father to the kids, reading them stories and going on outdoor adventures with them. This family picture is from 2015. The twins are so tiny! They’re all growing up so fast.
From the time I was small, I knew that I enjoyed art. I would create numerous things out of paper and cardboard such as a treasure chest with coins, a corded telephone made of cardboard, a driver’s license, my own credit cards and a credit card machine (the old carbon copy kind! haha!). I would also spend hours and hours in my bedroom doing pencil drawings along with making magazine collages on my notebooks in high school. I did end up graduating with a BA in Art and applied that toward graphic design jobs.
As I got older and got married I thought I wanted to start scrapbooking and bought a bunch of materials to do so. However, life and babies soon began to fill up my time. When I did have time to dabble, I enjoyed short projects such as a single card or one pocket page for memory keeping.
