I love the versatility of this project. You have an encouraging card, but then also a removable gift tag or keepsake. You could even use it as an ornament! And glitter is so much fun, even though it does get everywhere. (It cleaned up easily, no problem! Haha!)
I made a tutorial video on YouTube so you can follow along how to make this yourself.
Here are the dimensions I used:
Whisper White Cardstock:
card base 5.5″ x 8.5″, scored and folded in half
backing panel at 3.25″ x 4.5″
quarter sheet cut at 3/8″ and 2.25″ from the other side
Daffodil Delight cardstock – 4″ x 5.25″
Merry Little Christmas DSP – 3″ x 4.25″
window sheet and vellum scraps
8″-9″ of Basic Black and white striped baker’s twine
PS. Did you know I put funny true stories at the bottom of the notes from each regular tutorial video on YouTube? Scroll down to view and make a comment because I super duper love comments.

You’ve had a hard day (week? year?!). The kids are whiny, work is stressful and you just need an escape. Great news for you! The new Cocktail and a Card Classes start this Thursday from 7 pm – 8 pm. This is an inexpensive, quick and fun way to de-stress and hang out with old and new friends. Get your craft on with friends and a drink. What’s not to love?
This week we are kicking off with some sweet bubbly champagne and a fun birthday card. You need this! And for only $5, you have no real excuse not to come. We want you to relax with us. You’ll be able to have fun creating, know you have a card ready to go for that next occasion and watch that joy spread when you finally pass it on to a loved one.
Visit Delight of my Art on Facebook for details and to register for each weekly class by that Tuesday at midnight so I can prepare your materials (and buy enough booze!). I hope to see you there. Come stamp with us!
I get so excited when I get the email that my Paper Pumpkin box is in the mail on its way to me. I get even more excited when I see that orange box in my mailbox. For those of you that don’t know, Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription crafting kit. You can purchase single months, prepay for 3, 6 or 12 months or even just pay by the month. You can even gift a subscription (or a single box) to someone! They make great gifts. They are all inclusive, which means there are instructions, all the pre-cut and pre-scored cardstock, ink spot(s), stamps, all the embellishments and adhesives and your first kit comes with a free acrylic block! They are super portable so you could bring one on vacation or gift one to someone at the hospital. Bring one along while you wait for your child at dance class or bring one to a family gathering for the kids to try out. The possibilities are endless!
As I said, each box comes with instructions…but you don’t have to follow the instructions!! Get creative and think outside the orange box! Here I have made an alternate project using a few additional products found at the bottom of this post.
Paper Pumpkin kits are always a surprise and you usually are not able to order them after they ship to the subscribers. So in order to not miss out on anything, subscribe right away. Link to a 3-month prepaid is below OR you could save 25% if you are a new subscriber to the monthly subscription (pay by the month). This promo only lasts for a few more short days!! Sign up by June 10th to get June’s mystery kit! What will it be?!)
Here is the link to the YouTube tutorial: Typed instructions are below.
Cut a piece of 8.5″ x 11″ Powder Pink cardstock in half and fold to create a landscape card. Cut a 2″ x just under 4″ strip of the included striped brown bag, including the decorative edge. Cut a 4″ piece of burlap ribbon.
Stamp the included tiny flower stamp in Powder Pink ink diagonally across the card front. Take out the dots from It’s a Sara Thing Paper Pumpkin kit. Stamp them in the included Soft Suede ink, stamp off on scrap paper and then stamp diagonally across card front. Stamp Thankful For You sentiment on included white tag in Soft Suede ink.
Adhere a Delicate White Doily to the left of the card using snail adhesive or the included adhesive dots. Adhere the bag strip on top of that so that just a bit of the doily peeks out the left side. Adhere the Burlap Ribbon using Fast Fuse or Tear and Tape. Place included dimensionals on the back of the tag. Place on top of the ribbon.
Tie a bow with the included gold twine. Adhere to card using a Mini Glue Dot. Place a few of the included pearls, sprinkled along the diagonal movement of the background. All done!
