I've loved arts and crafts for as long as I can remember. There's something deeply fulfilling about sitting down with a pile of pieces and materials and turning them into something beautiful, it's a feeling I chased long before I ever called it a business.
Card making really took hold when my four kids headed off to school and I found myself craving something creative and fulfilling to fill that space. I've always had a knack for it, and if I'm being honest, I wanted all the supplies, so teaching became a way to share what I loved and make that passion sustainable too. But it became so much more than that. Making cards blesses me, and giving them blesses someone else. Teaching felt like the perfect way to use my talents and share what I love with others.
Why Stampin' Up!? The quality and color coordination make everything just work, but honestly, it's the community that keeps me here. Everyone is so warm and inviting, and we cheer each other on. That same spirit is what I've tried to build here at Delight of My Art.
Creativity runs in my family, my mom's sister is an oil painter, and I have fond memories of going to art camp as a kid. It's been part of who I am from the very beginning.
My hope for you? I want you to discover that you can make beautiful projects and that you're more crafty than you realize. My teaching philosophy is simple: play along with me, and if you make a "mistake," treat it as an opportunity to find a creative way to fix it. There's no such thing as ruining a card here only new directions.
When I'm not stamping, you'll find me in mid-Michigan with my husband, our four teenagers, our dog, two cats, and a flock of chickens. We love Jesus, good food, and hiking in beautiful places. And if you ever want to make my day show me a new fun fold to try. I can never get enough of those.
Why I do this, in one sentence? To spread joy; from myself, to others, to the world.
I'd love for you to be part of that.
Come craft with me!
